AMD unveils new low-power RX 9060 XT GPU model with 16GB of memory
AMD has officially unveiled a new RDNA 4 GPU model: a low-power variant of the company’s Radeon RX 9060 XT. This new RX 9060 XT LP GPU was first spotted by ITHOME, though it has also been listed on AMD’s website.
This new GPU drops the TDP of AMD’s Radeon RX 9060 XT down to 140W. That’s a 20W decrease in power. This drop in power results in only a marginal reduction in performance, with the new model delivering 25 TFLOPs of single-precision performance. Note that AMD’s RX 9060 XT delivers 25.6 TFLOPs of single-precision compute performance. That’s a 2.4% drop in performance.
Right now, it’s unknown why this new GPU model exists. Is this a low-TDP model for OEMs, or does AMD plan to officially release this GPU as a standalone product? Given its near-identical specifications to the standard RX 9060 XT, its existence raises many questions.
