ASUS has revealed the specifications of its ROG Strix RTX 3080 graphics cards, confirming ambitious clock speeds for their flagship Gaming OC model. ASUS’ RTX 3080 Strix Gaming models will include a new cooler design from the manufacturer, upgraded fans and feature three 8-pin PCIe power connectors, all of which are designed to get the most out of Nvidia’s Ampere silicon.

With a boost clock of 1935MHz in the graphics card’s OC mode, ASUS’ ROG Strix RTX 3080 Gaming OC has a 225MHz higher boost clock speed than Nvidia’s RTX 3080 Founders Edition model. Only time will tell if this clock speed advantage will deliver gamers more real-world performance.

When we reviewed ASUS’ more entry-level RTX 3080 TUF Gaming OC, we were impressed by ASUS’ cooling solution and the performance that the company could deliver so close to Nvidia’s MSRP pricing. With the ROG Strix model, ASUS promises a more advanced cooling solution, more RGB illuminated elements, higher clock speeds and stronger power circuitry.

Below are the specifications of Nvidia’s RTX 3080 Founders Edition and ASUS’ custom models.
