ASUS GeForce RTX 5080 and Radeon RX 9070 XT GPU names leaked

ASUS ROG Astral RTX 5080? A long list of next-gen ASUS GPU names has leaked

It looks like ASUS is getting ready to launch a new series of ROG (Republic of Gamers) graphics cards, starting with the ROG Astral GeForce RTX 5080. Yes, ASUS may be moving away from its ROG Strix series with Nvidia’s RTX 50 GPU generation, as shown below in a list of upcoming GPUs leaked by @momomo_us.

Below, we have a list of Nvidia GeForce RTX 5080 and AMD Radeon RX 9070 XT and RX 9070 GPUs. Note that ASUS’ ROG Astral brand only appears for Nvidia’s high-end RTX 5080 graphics card. This suggests that AMD’s Radeon RX 9070 series will not have ROG Astral variants.

For Nvidia’s 5080, ASUS appears to have PRIME, TUF Gaming, and ROG Astral models in the works. This leak also reconfirms that Nvidia’s RTX 5080 will have a 16GB frame buffer. AMD’s Radeon RX 9070 XT and RX 9070 have also been listed as having 16GB of VRAM.

With ASUS’ ROG Astral GPU series will come a new GPU heatsink design. Don’t expect ASUS’ new ROG series GPUs to look like their last-generation counterparts. We expect to see a new heatsink design and a new overall aesthetic. We expect ASUS to showcase these new GPU models at CES 2025, after Nvidia’s RTX 50 series reveal and AMD’s RDNA 4 reveal.
