ASUS’ ROG Swift 360Hz PG259QN is due to launch next month for £629
The ROG Swift 360Hz PG259QN is the world’s fastest PC monitor, boasting refresh rates that are six times higher than standard 60Hz displays while boasting high levels of image quality thanks to ASUS’ use of fast-IPS display panels.Â
With the ROG Swift 360Hz PG259QN, ASUS offers users G-Sync support using a high-speed G-Sync module and ultra-fast response times. These upgrades are designed to make in-game motion appear smoother, and allows gamers to see and respond to on-screen actions faster. Thanks to these changes, users of 360Hz monitors have an advantage over users of slower screens, especially those who are still using 60Hz panels.Â
With high refresh rate monitors, gamers can react faster and benefit from increased motion clarity. ASUS’Â ROG Swift 360Hz PG259QN also boasts support for HDR10, though at this time it is unknown how robust this screen’s HDR support is. Given the screen’s 400Â cd/m2 brightness rating, our guess is that this screen’s HDR support won’t be spectacular.Â
The ROG Swift 360Hz PG259QNÂ uses a Fast IPS screen to offer gamers stellar image quality alongside ultra-fast refresh rates. This screen offers users full-HD resolutions at 360Hz with 178/178 degree viewing angles and 1ms G2G response times. Like most recent ASUS ROG monitors, ASUS’Â ROG Swift 360Hz PG259QN features RGB lighting though ASUS Aura Sync and a stand with tilt, height, swivel and rotate options.Â
Â
For connectivity, ASUS’Â ROG Swift 360Hz PG259QN features both DisplayPort 1.4 and HDMI 2.0 inputs alongside dual USB 3.0 ports and a headphone connection. HDMI 2.0 connections are limited to 240Hz, due to the bandwidth limitations of HDMI 2.0.Â
Citing a study from Nvidia, ASUS claims that 360Hz monitors can allow gamers to perform better in games and achieve higher K/D ratios in competitive shooters like Counter-Strike: Global Offensive and MOBAs like DOTA 2.
Â
ASUS’ ROG Swift 360Hz PG259QN monitor will be released in September with MSRP prices of £629/$699 in the US/UK.Â
