ASUS reportedly preparing an ASUS ROG Strix RX 590 graphics card

Spies from within ASUS have reportedly spilt the beans on the company’s upcoming Radeon RX 590 GPU, confirming to Videocardz that the company plans to create and ROG Strix version of the incoming AMD graphics card.

Is this is true, it appears as if ASUS doesn’t plan to maintain their new AREZ Radeon sub-brand, or relegate the new bran to lower-tier graphics hardware, keeping the ROG Strix brand on high-end graphics cards for both AMD and Nvidia.

Previously leaked RX 590 benchmarking results reveal clock speeds and performance levels that are higher than both AMD’s RX 480 and RX 580 graphics cards, while maintaining the same 8GB memory configuration with 2000MHz clock speeds, making the RX 590 appear to be another refresh of AMD’s Polaris architecture.

Rumour has it that this graphics card is AMD’s 12nm Polaris refresh, a product that is designed to enhance the efficiency of AMD’s Polaris architecture while also delivering enhanced performance levels. While this won’t be a Pascal-to-Turing like hardware innovation, it will be enough to generate a little more competitiveness into the mid-range graphics card market, an area of the market where pricing has been relatively stagnant for the past 2-3 years (outside of mining-related price hikes).
