EEC listing hints at Gigabyte Radeon RX 5500 XT 8GB graphics cards
While AMD has no officially announced that Radeon RX 5500 XT graphics card, we know that Navi silicon that’s used to create RX 5500 series graphics cards has some spare CUs that are waiting to be unlocked. Instead of the 22 active CUs in the RX 5500, AMD’s RX 5500 XT graphics card can contain 24 active CUs, giving the RX 5500XT 128 more stream processors and a potential 9% boost to performance. AMD’s Radeon RX 5500XT is also likely to offer higher clock speeds than AMD’s RX 5500, enhancing the graphics card’s performance further.Â
The ECC listing below suggests that the Radeon RX 5500XT will feature 8GB of GDDR6 memory, though at this time the speed of this memory is unknown.Â
Regardless, AMD’s rumoured RX 5500XT will ship with performance levels that are remarkably close to its previously announced RX 5500, assuming that GPU and memory clock speeds don’t see a major increase.
