Epic’s Paragon MOBA will have PS4/PC crossplay

 

Epic’s Paragon MOBA will have PS4/PC crossplay, giving the game a larger, unified player base, giving gamers a much greater chance of finding a full game server online and hopefully giving the game a much more sustainable online community. 

 

   We’re excited to support crossplay, because it’s going to grow the pool of potential players at any given time, and that’ll help us foster and grow an active community. We’ll have more details on how that’ll work soon; we’re still working through the specifics.

 

 

The developers of the game don’t think that mouse and keyboard based controls will give PC gamers an advantage over console players, with players using the early builds of the game being equally competent on both control formats.  PS4 and PC will have both controller and Mouse/Keyboard support, so gamers on both PC and console alike will be able to control the game whichever way they prefer.  

The gmae is designed so that controller and mouse/keyboard based controls will be equally viable, with the best players of the game so far using different control methods. 

 

The pace of Paragon is not frantic like a typical third-person action shooter, and that’s intentional. We want to give players room to think strategically, to be careful about how they play, and to understand the action as it happens. In Paragon, it’s not entirely about twitch-based controls or that no-scope sniper headshot, so that levels the field a bit to start. And of course, the goal is to tune the controls in such a way that you should see no discernable difference — a skilled player on a controller will be able to hold her own against a skilled player using a keyboard/mouse. Some of our top players internally are using controllers against others who are using keyboard/mouse.

  

 

 The gamplay trailer below was recorded on a PC, showcasing some amazing visuals and some interesting character designs.

 The game will be entering open beta in summer 2016 and will be available in a paid early access version in early Spring 2016.
