Hitman will use DirectX 12?
Hitman will use DirectX 12?
Â
IO Interactive will be holding a tutorial session at GDC called “Rendering Hitman with DirectX 12”, confirming that the Hitman game renderer supports the new API.Â
While this is not a direct confirmation that the game will support the new API, it does show that the developers did indeed design their game renderer with it and the Vulkan API in mind.Â
Â
This talk will give a brief overview of how the Hitman Renderer works, followed by a deep dive into how we manage everything with DirectX 12, including Pipeline State Objects, Root Signatures, Resources, Command Queues and Multithreading.
Â
How to write a fast and efficient DirectX 12 / Vulkan engine, and how to use the new HW features to implement new graphics techniques. Learn from real shipping game developers experiences.
Â
Â
Hitman has recently changes to a fully episodic release schedule, with the first portion of the game releasing on March 11th, so hopefully we will be hearing more about the games DX 12 support before then.Â

You can join the discussion on Hitman 2016 using a DirectX 12 compatible renderer on the OC3D Forums.Â
