Panther Lake will “set a new standard” for integrated graphics – Intel claims
Intel is preparing to unveil Panther Lake processors, and in its latest “The Road to Panther Lake” video, the company detailed its graphics journey. With Panther Lake, Intel will be upgrading its graphics tech, so much so that Intel’s Jim Johnson said it would “set a new standard” for integrated graphics.
If recent rumours are to be believed, Intel’s Panther Lake CPUs will use Xe3 “Celestial” GPU IP and feature up to 12 Execution Units (EU). That’s a 50% increase over the EU count of Lunar Lake. With a new graphics architecture and more execution units, gamers should expect major performance increases from Panther Lake.
The graphics in Panther Lake will set a new standard for us [Intel], and actually think for the industry. We’ll talk more about it when these products are ready to launch

Graphics performance is a clear priority for Panther Lake. With this in mind, it’s possible that Intel could take a leadership position in the world of integrated gaming graphics. While we don’t expect Panther Lake to deliver discrete-level graphics performance, it should easily surpass Intel’s older products. That said, we’ll need to see some real data before we believe Intel’s “a new standard” claim.
