Intel’s latest GPU drivers delivers Netflix and YouTube HDR support

Intel has released their new 15.60 (15.60.0.4849) driver for their integrated GPUs, bringing support for HDR media playback 7th Generation and 8th Generation (Kaby Lake and Coffee Lake) series CPUs. 

This driver is INtel’s first Windows 10 Creators GPU driver, which supports hardware from Intel’s 6th generation of CPUs (Skylake) or newer.Other key updates for this driver come in the form of game optimisations on Intel Iris Pro Graphics, details of which are quoted below from Intel’s driver patch notes. 

Battle singing Orcs and score legendary goals while enjoying performance optimizations and playability improvements in the newly released Middle-earth: Shadow of War* and Pro Evolution Soccer 2018 on Intel® Iris® Pro Graphics. Take on The Cabal* and keep the enemy in your sights in these newly released, fast action-packed sequels to legendary favorites, Destiny 2*, Call of Duty®: WWII, and Divinity: Original Sin 2* on Intel® Iris® Pro Graphics.

This new driver also enables support for Windows 10 Mixed Reality and enables features like video decode acceleration in DirectX 12. Full patch notes for Intel’s new GPU driver can be read here.  

Intel’s new 15.60 GPU driver can be downloaded here, but please check in advance that your CPU officially supports this software.
