Launch imminent? AMD FSR 4.1 DLL appears on AMD servers

FSR 4.1 DLL appears on AMD’s website

Users on the Radeon subreddit have discovered a new AMD FSR 4.1 DLL that’s newer than the version that leaked last month. While AMD was quick to remove these DLL files from its website, Radeon fans were quick to download them and distribute them online.

The appearance of FSR 4.1 on AMD’s website suggests that the launch of AMD’s improved ML upscaler is imminent. It is possible that this new version of FSR will be distributed as part of a new AMD Software release for Death Stranding 2: On the Beach and Crimson Desert. Both of these games are due to be released on PC this week.

With FSR 4.1, AMD aims to improve image quality. This is great news for AMD RDNA 4 GPU users, as it will effectively serve as a free graphical upgrade. Currently, it is unknown what has changed with FSR 4.1. However, it seems unlikely that it will be coming to older RDNA GPU architectures.

The FSR 4.1 DLL on AMD’s website is version 2.2.0.1328. This is newer than the previously leaked version of AMD FSR 4.1, which was version 2.1.0.968. This implies that AMD may have made further improvements to FSR 4.1.

Since Crimson Desert is an AMD “FSR Redstone” title, it would make sense for AMD to launch its newest version of FSR upscaling alongside the game.

Will FSR 4.1 arrive as part of AMD’s 26.3.1 driver? You can join the discussion on FSR 4.1 on the OC3D Forums.
