LG begins mass production of its “Ultimate gaming OLED” monitor

LG’s levelling up its OLED tech for next-generation gaming screens

LG has confirmed that they have started mass producing new “Ultimate gaming OLED” monitor panels based on the company’s 4th generation Tandem OLED technology. Previously, LG has called this their “Dream OLED” tech, due to its dual stack emitting layers for its LED elements.

With its 4th Gen OLED tech, LG has started producing 27-inch gaming panels with impressive specifications. These screens support peak brightness levels of up to 1,500 nits and refresh rates of up to 280Hz. It is likely that this monitor will support 4K resolutions at up to 280Hz.

Additionally, LG has confirmed that it has developed new 1440p 540Hz OLED monitor panels. This screen will be ideal for fast-paced games and will be well suited to competitive gaming environemts.

For those who want to take refresh rates to higher levels, these panels can also support 720Hz outputs with HD resolutions. For 720p content, gamers can benefit from the highest refresh rates of any gaming screen. This feature comes thanks to LG’s proprietary Dynamic Frequency and Resolution (FDR) tech.

We can expect LG’s new generation of high refresh rate OLED gaming monitors to become available later this year.
