LG showcases its fastest OLED monitor panel with 540 Hz and 720 Hz modes

LG’s pushing its OLED monitors to absurd speeds at K-Display 2025

At K-Display in Korea, LG has showcased its fastest OLED monitor panel to date, a 27-inch QHD panel that supports a refresh rate of 540 Hz. Using LG’s Dynamic Frequency and Resolution tech, this display also supports 720 Hz in HD mode, trading screen resolution for an even higher refresh rate.

This screen boasts an LG 4th Generation WOLED panel, which uses LG’s “Tandem OLED” technology. This tech enables higher levels of image quality using dual-stacked emissive layers for each RGB pixel, enabling increased brightness and lower power usage. LG’s new 540 Hz 1440p monitor features a maximum brightness of 1,500 nits and 99.5% DCI-P3 colour reproduction.

LG Display is demonstrating a comparison of the previous generation’s picture quality with that of fourth-generation OLED panels using ultra-large-sized panels, highlighting the incredible three-dimensionality and rich color reproduction of its latest technology.

In addition, it is unveiling the world’s fastest OLED monitor panel for the first time. LG Display’s 540Hz 27-inch OLED panel (QHD) applies Dynamic Frequency & Resolution (DFR) technology to achieve an ultra-high refresh rate of up to 720Hz (HD) depending on the user’s needs. Combined with fourth-generation OLED technology, it boasts the highest level of picture quality among OLED monitor panels, with 99.5% DCI-P3 color reproduction and a maximum brightness of 1,500 nits.

LG’s new OLED monitor panel supports 540Hz at 1440p (QHD) and 720 Hz at 720p (HD). Given its low resolution, the usefulness of this screen’s 720 Hz mode is limited. Even so, there are users who prize speed over image clarity.
