LG unveils its 2025 OLED TV lineup, revealing huge improvements for the range

LG launches their 2025 range of OLED TVs, revealing a range of new technologies

LG has officially launched its 2025 OLED EVO TV lineup, bringing new technologies and features to its entire TV lineup. For starters, LG will be moving to their new WebOS 25, which includes a new AI search feature that is powered by Microsoft Copilot.

For LG’s 2025 M-series and G-series OLED monitors, the company has moved away from its MLA (Micro Lense) OLED technology and has utilised new 4-stack OLED panels. LG has claimed that these new panels feature the company’s “upgraded Brightness Booster Ultimate technology.” This tech makes their M5 and G5 OLED monitors three times brighter than their B5 series OLED models (in a 10% window). Currently, it is unknown if LG can combine their 4-stack and MLA technology with future OLED panel iterations.

M5 and G5 series improvements

LG’s M5 and G5 series monitors are their top-of-the-line OLED offerings. Both use their new 4-stack OLED monitor panels and LG’s new Alpha 11 AI Gen2 processor. For their 55-inch, 65-inch, 77-inch, and 83-inch G5 monitors, LG will support refresh rates of up to 165Hz for the first time. Other G5 and M5 OLED monitors will be limited to 144Hz. All of these monitors are both AMD FreeSync Premium Pro certified and Nvidia G-Sync compatible, making them ideal for high-end gaming purposes.

The primary difference between the M5 and G5 series is their design. The M5 series offers users a “wireless” display, where inputs are delivered to the screen using a “Zero Connect Box”. For the G5 series, users must connect their devices directly to their televisions.

LG OLED 2025 C5-series improvements

LG’s C5 series uses an OLED panel design similar to last year’s C4 models. Note that LG has not given their C5 series MLA technology. These new screens will feature upgraded Alpha 9 processors. For the most part, these screens are slightly upgraded versions of their C4 counterparts. C5 series screens will be a little brighter and feature some improvements to colour performance. Regardless, the upgrades are relatively minor this year.

As for LG’s lower-end A and B series OLED lineups, 2025 brings big changes. For starters, the A-series has been discontinued. As for the B-series, it will be available with screen sizes between 48 and 83 inches and feature 120Hz 4K OLED panels. All four HDMI ports on these screens will also be HDMI 2.1, much like their B4 counterparts.

Overall, LG’s improved OLED technology appears to only benefit users of the company’s highest-end M5 and G5 panels. Regardless, all models have improvements over their last-generation counterparts. Pricing and further information will become available as the launch of these screens comes nearer.
