Nvidia’s next-generation GPU launch may slip to 2025 – Leaker suggests
Before now, it seemed likely that Nvidia would be launching their GeForce RTX 50 series of “Blackwell” GPUs later this year, starting with their RTX 5090 and RTX 5080. Now it looks like Nvidia’s RTX 50 series launch will slip to 2025, with an official reveal at CES 2025 in January.
This rumoured delay will make 2025 a huge year for the Discrete GPU market. Currently, it looks like we will be seeing new GPUs from AMD, Nvidia, and Intel in early 2025. These launches will transform the entire gaming landscape, and hopefully result in better value for PC gamers. That said, the exact timings of these new GPU launches remain unconfirmed by all three GPU makers.

According to Kopite7kimi, Nvidia’s launch plans for their RTX 50 series may have slipped out of 2024. Currently, it is unknown why this may have happened. Is GDDR7 memory supply an issue? Are Nvidia taking more time to finalise their RTX 50 series GPU designs? Maybe Nvidia’s software team are taking more time to improve their newest RTX software features? Hopefully, this extra time will result in a stronger product launch. That said, hardware launch plans are always subject to change.
With Nvidia Blackwell, AMD RDNA 4, and Intel Battlemage launching in 2025, we should expect a transformative period within the PC gaming space. Let’s hope that this results in the release of high value gaming products, and more performance for every segment of the GPU market.
