Nvidia officially drops the RTX 2060’s pricing to £274.99

As AMD is preparing to release its Radeon RX 5600 XT, Nvidia has already prepped its countermove, officially reducing the pricing of its RTX 2060. In the UK the MSRP of Nvidia’s RTX 2060 has been reduced from $349 to $299 in the US and from £329.99 to £274.99 in the UK.

This pricing hasn’t been confirmed by Nvidia, but the reduced pricing on Nvidia’s website speaks for itself, and the timing is certainly intentionally. AMD’s $279.99 RX 5600 XT will release on Tuesday, January 21st, making now the ideal time for Nvidia to undermine AMD’s efforts.

Nvidia rarely reduces their prices, at least in an official capacity. Typically, price reductions come from Nvidia’s add-in-board partners, who have either increased the efficiency of their manufacturing processes or benefitted from reduced memory pricing or other market forces.

Only time will tell if AMD will reduce their RX 5000 series pricing to counter Nvidia’s RTX 2060 price reductions. Reducing AMD’s RX 5600 XT to $250 or $260 would be an epic move from Radeon. AMD made a similar move before the RX 5700 series released; after Nvidia revealed its RTX 20XX Super series and its pricing.
