Nvidia reveals surprising levels of RTX support

At their #BeForTheGame event in Cologne Germany, Nvidia announced that 21 games will receive ray-traced features, including PUBG, Final Fantasy XV, Ark: Survival Evolved, Battleifled V and Shadow of the Tomb Raider.

Some of these game will receive content updates, and others will offer support for RTX when they eventually launch. This technology will enable a variety of advanced effects, from enhanced shadows to reflections and even global illumination. This will allow games to offer different visual improvements depending on their specific requirements.

RTX technology is currently supported via modern graphical APIs like DirectX 12 and Vulkan, forcing Nvidia to embrace these new APIs fully. Below is an image which showcases every game that will support real-time ray-traced features in the near future.

It has been confirmed that Shadow of the Tomb Raider will include Ray Traced Shadows, Battlefield V will support Ray Traced reflections, and Metro Exodus will support Ray Traced Global illumination.

Update –

Nvidia has clarified that their list of RTX supported titles includes games that support Real-Time Ray Tracing and/or DLSS (Deep Learning Super-Sampling), which means that only eleven titles are receiving support for Ray Tracing. Sixteen of these titles will support DLSS and lack any Ray Tracing elements.
