Gaijin Entertainment has just announced that Nvidia GameWorks is coming to War Thunder, thanks to the most recent version of the game’s Dagor Engine 4.0.

This will give the game higher graphical detail, improve in-game destruction and make a big difference to the Game’s water rendering with Nvidia Waveworks.

One of the most interesting things about this update is that it will improve game physics and change gameplay as if a player destroys a wall in his game it will be destroyed for all players.

This change will affect all platforms, as the PC version of the game does cross-play with the PS4 version. Below is some graphical comparisons between the GameWorks version and Non-GameWorks version.

Our game is beginning to shift to a new version of the engine Dagor Engine – 4.0. In previous issues of  the Journal of development  we talked about a physically correct  rendering  and  advanced system damage.
New rendering allows you to display a variety of materials (wood, leaves, metal, stone, earth, etc.) is more natural because of complex calculations of light reflection from different surfaces, so that the machinery and around the game world will look even more realistic.

The updated game engine technology integrated set of NVIDIA Gameworks, which resulted in a new level of graphics. Earlier in the tank battles that players can destroy trees, fences, and other small objects, in one of the following updates tankers will be able to bring down the entire building shots. This not only adds battles entertainment, but also open up new tactical possibilities – for example, you can create a new firing positions, destroying a wall or a house.

Another technology – NVIDIA Waveworks – it’s incredibly realistic water surfaces, whether forest river, lake or the raging ocean. It generates waves and foam, taking into account the wind direction and the degree of excitement. And most interestingly, the technology allows you to create interactive surface. Interact with players and other objects in space War Thunder.
