Nvidia’s RTX 3060 12GB is due to launch on February 25th

Nvidia’s RTX 3060 12GB graphics card is due to release in “Late February“, and WCCFTECH has seemingly confirmed that Nvidia has narrowed down the launch date to February 25th.

Nvidia’s RTX3060 12GB has the second-largest frame buffer of the RTX 30 series, offering more VRAM capacity than all other RTX 30 series GPUs aside from the colossal 24GB RTX 3090. While GPUs like the RTX 3060 Ti, RTX 3070 and RTX 3080 offer users more RAW memory bandwidth, the RTX 3060 offers more VRAM space for game data. This fact alone will make the RTX 3060 a popular graphics card for creators, especially those who want to do heavy video work on a tight budget.

In the US, Nvidia’s RTX 3060 12GB will have an MSRP of $329, and in the UK the graphics card will have an MSRP of £299. GPU manufacturers will have premium models which will be more expensive than this, and today’s high demand market will likely inflate the RTX 3060’s pricing to insane levels before long.

Thankfully, Nvidia’s RTX 3060 graphics card is unlikely to be as good as Nvidia’s RTX 3060 and RTX 3070 at Etherium mining, as Etherium mining appears to be VRAM bandwidth limited on most Ampere graphics cards. That said, the demand for RTX 30 series graphics cards is great enough that we expect these GPUs to sell out on day 1.

Like all other Nvidia RTX graphics cards, Nvidia’s RTX 3060 will support Hardware Accelerated Ray Tracing using Nvidia’s custom RT cores, AI acceleration using Nvidia’s Tensor cores, and the full DirectX 12 Ultimate feature set. Tools like Nvidia’s DLSS tech should make the RTX 3060 an incredibly powerful graphics card when used with compatible titles.
