Nvidia’s RTX 5070 drops below £500 in the UK

Zotac’s RTX 5070 Solid OC has dropped below £500 in the UK, over £40 less than Nvidia’s day-1 MSRP

Nvidia’s RTX 5070 has seen its pricing plummet to below £500 in the UK. Zotac’s RTX 5070 Solid OC is now available for £494.99. This is far below Nvidia’s launch day MSRP of £539. Right now, this GPU deal is available at Overclockers UK.

A few months ago, graphics cards at their MSRP pricing were considered practically non-existent. Now, manufacturers and retailers are pushing RTX 50 series GPU prices to all-time lows. Perhaps AMD’s highly competitive RX 9000 series can be thanked for this. Regardless of the cause, this change is good news for the PC hardware market.

Like most RTX 5070-series GPU designs, the GPU’s Zotac Solid OC is cooled using a triple-fan heatsink and uses a 16-pin 12V-2×6 power connector. Note that this GPU isn’t short enough to meet Nvidia’s “SFF-Ready” standard, as it is 0.4mm longer than the standard’s maximum length of 304mm.

If you want our thoughts on Nvidia’s RTX 5070, you can read our review of ASUS’ RTX 5070 TUF OC model. Overall, the GPU is a solid replacement for Nvidia’s RTX 4070 and RTX 4070 SUPER. That said, AMD’s strong-performing RX 9070 series GPUs (review here) take the wind out of Nvidia’s sales.

The fact that we can get an Nvidia 5070 GPU below MSRP is a clear sign. AMD’s RX 9070 series has had a significant impact on the GPU market. If the RX 9070 series didn’t exist, I doubt we would see this kind of pricing for Nvidia’s RTX 5070. As always, competition matters.
