Nvidia’s RTX 5090 could be 60-70% faster than an RTX 4090 – Leaker Claims

Nvidia’s Blackwell-based RTX 5090 is reportedly “60 or 70% faster” than their RTX 4090

Nvidia’s RTX 4090 has been available for over a year now, and gamers are eager to see what the company’s next-generation GeForce GPUs are going to look like. According to the latest rumours, Nvidia are planning to launch their Blackwell-based RTX 5090 graphics card this year. With this GPU, Nvidia aims to deliver a large performance leap over today’s Ada-based GPU offerings.

According to Moore’s Law is Dead, Nvidia’s RTX 5090 will delver a huge performance leap over its predecessor. In his video, Tom stated that “I’ve heard it could be 60 or 70% faster” than an RTX 4090. That’s a large performance leap, especially when considering the RTX 4090 is around 50% faster than an RTX 3090.

Rumour has it that AMD has no plans to offer gamers an ultra-high-end RDNA 4 graphics card. With this in mind, it makes sense that Nvidia are reportedly targeting higher pricing for their RTX 50 series flagship. Moore’s Law is Dead stated that Nvidia’s RTX 5090 could cost as much as $2,000-$2,500. With no competition in the high-end market, Nvidia can get away with higher pricing.

Nvidia’s RTX 50 flagship will reportedly feature cut-down GPU silicon. This makes sense as neither the RTX 3090 or RTX 4090 utilise the full potential of their silicon. It also makes sense for Nvidia to target their full-fat Blackwell GPU silicon at the growing AI market. There, Nvidia can sell the same silicon at a much higher price.
