Price Cut! AMD lowers the MSRP of their Radeon RX 7700 XT

AMD officially lowers the price of their Radeon RX 7700 XT

AMD has made some huge changes to their RDNA 3 GPU lineup. For starters, AMD’s Radeon RX 7900 GRE is now available in the UK (See our review here), giving gamers a new high-end option. Now, AMD are boosting the value of their mid-range GPU lineup by lowering the MSRP of their Radeon RX 7700 XT.

AMD’s 12GB Radeon RX 7700 XT has had its MSRP lowered from $449 to $419. This is a $30 price reduction for AMD’s mid-range RDNA 3 GPU. This price reduction places AMD’s 7700 series GPU between Nvidia’s RTX 4060 Ti 8GB and RTX 4060 Ti 16GB in pricing terms. In our review for XFX’s Qick 319 model, it greatly outperformed Nvidia’s RTX 4060 Ti 8GB.

Previously, AMD’s RX 7800 XT was only $50 more expensive than AMD’s 7700XT. This made AMD’s 7700 XT model a poor value proposition when compared to AMD’s higher-end graphics card. While AMD’s $30 price reduction is a welcome one. That said, I feel that this GPU remains too close to their $499 Radeon RX 7800 XT. Gamers who are interested in a RX 7700XT should probably spend a little more time saving and get a RX 7800 XT or RX 7900 GRE. Both GPU are significantly more powerful and feature 4GB of additional DRAM.

Is AMD’s $30 price cut enough? You can join the discussion on AMD reducing the MSRP of their Radeon RX 7700 XT on the OC3D Forums.
