At the PC Gaming Show 2019, Samsung has revealed their upcoming C27RG5 gaming monitor, what Samsung believes is the world’s first 240Hz curved gaming monitor.

The C27RG5 utilises a 27-inch 1080p screen which supports a 240Hz maximum refresh and support for Nvidia’s G-Sync technology. For this display, Samsung is using a VA-type panel which lacks support for HDR technology and sports a typical brightness level of 300 nits.

In the US this monitor will cost around $399.99, with Samsung stating that this monitor is G-Sync Compatible, which means that this is an Adaptive-Sync compatible monitor. Strangely, Samsung’s press release doesn’t list adaptive-sync or FreeSync compatibility, only that the monitor is G-Sync Compatible and is “validated by NVIDIA to meet the performance and image quality requirements for G-Sync compatibility”.

Out of the box, Samsung’s C27RG5 will support HDMI 2.0 and DisplayPort 1.2 display inputs and support VESA compatible monitor arms and stands.
