Samsung’s 240Hz Odyssey G7 QLED monitors are due to release next month
Using DisplayPort 1.4, this screen can support HDR600 complaint HDR at 1440p 240Hz using this screen’s QLED curved display. This screen offers users a 1000R curvature, making it ideal for users who are 1 meter (1000mm) away from the screen. Samsung’s Odyssey G7 series will be available with 32-inch and 27-inch models, both of which boast 1ms (GTG) response times, a colour changing rear lighting system and VESA compatible monitor stands which support tilt, swivel, and height adjustment options. Â
Both of these screens are very similar to Samsung’s high-end Odyssey G9 monitor, which delivers users a huge 49-inch 5120×1440 (dual-wide 1440p) screen with a DisplayHDR 1000 rating and support for refresh rates up to 240Hz. This screen also offers users a response time of 1ms, and supports AMD’s FreeSync 2 technology while also being G-Sync Compatible.Â
Samsung has confined that its new Odyssey G7 series monitors are due to release globally in July, with all models offering users similarly spec-d QLED screens with HDR compatibility and Variable Refresh Rate (VRR) support.Â
Both of Samsung’s new Odyssey G7 series monitors feature dual DisplayPort 1.4 inputs as well as an HDMI 2.0 input. Both screen feature low input latency modes, as well as an integrated USB 3.0 splitter and an integrated headphone jack. Â
More details about these screens are due to be released soon. At this time the pricing of these screens is unknown, though they are unlikely to be cheap.Â
