Sapphire shows its users how to update their GPU’s BIOS to boost performance

Sapphire’s Radeon RX 5600 XT is a fantastic graphics card, in our review, it was able to match AMD’s Radeon RX 5700 and give graphics cards like Nvidia’s RTX 2060 and RTX 2060 Super a run for their money.

The only problem with Sapphire’s Radeon RX 5600 XT is that early batches of AMD’s budget performer will ship with older, lower performance, BIOS files, limiting the graphics cards performance. Thankfully, Sapphire has given their end-users the files they need to update their graphics card’s BIOS and a helpful video that outlines the update process.

Newer Radeon RX 5600 XT models will feature updated BIOS files, but early samples will not. Sapphire has told us that all newly manufactured Radeon RX 5600 XT Pulse graphics cards will feature their updated BIOS, but some early retail samples won’t. We have been informed that only the following model numbers will feature Sapphire’s old BIOS.

New BIOS files for Sapphire’s RX 5600 XT Pulse graphics card are available to here, on Sapphire’s website. Please follow the video below for BIOS update instructions. Please note that this install process may not be the same for all hardware vendors.

While updating your graphics card’s bios may be a tedious process, it is one which turns AMD’s Radeon RX 5600 XT into one of the most cost-effective graphics cards on the market, delivering incredible performance numbers for its £255 pricepoint.
