One other problem with this, like all other early high-resolution TVs, is its lack of support for future high-resolution broadcasts, with this TV requiring a new TV tuner to watch future 8K broadcasts. One other problem is that existing HDMI cables are not ready for 8K resolutions, with the standard requiring an update to properly support such a high resolution, again making this TV difficult to use.Â
While 8K resolutions are technically “consumer ready”, it is going to take a long time for both content creators and broadcasters to be ready to utilise the technology. Today 4K TVs are only starting to gain traction in the market and HDR content is only starting to be produced widely, simply put, the world is not ready for 8K consumer televisions.Â
