Sniper Elite 4 Announced

Rebellion has announced Sniper Elite 4, a game that will release this year on PC, Xbox One and PS4, coming with a dedicated Co-op campaign and being built from the ground up for modern hardware.

Sniper Elite 3 was one of my favorite games of 2014, both being interesting a fun to play game and a title that really pushed the performance envelope on PC with its use of the Mantle API and spectacular visuals for its low hardware requirements.

The game takes place after the end of Sniper Elite 3, moving from the African front to the Italian Peninsula where Karl Fairburne must fight alongside members of the Italian resistance as they rise up to fight their Fascist rulers.

Set in the aftermath of its award-winning predecessor, Sniper Elite 4 continues the series’ World War Two heritage by transporting players across the beautiful Italian peninsula, from sun-drenched Mediterranean coastal towns, to colossal Nazi mega structures, daunting forests and giddying mountain monasteries inspired by Monte Cassino.

Covert agent and elite marksman Karl Fairburne must fight alongside the brave men and women of the Italian Resistance to help free their country from the yoke of Fascism, and defeat a terrifying new threat with the potential to halt the Allied fightback in Europe before it’s even begun.

If his mission fails, there will be no Operation Overlord, no D-Day landings, and no Victory in Europe.

This will be the first game in the series that will be made for current generation hardware exclusively, meaning that the game will only be shipping on the PC, PS4 and Xbox One, so this game will not be held back by the constraints of previous generation hardware.

Sniper Elite 4 will have a fully playable 2-player campaign and have much larger map sizes than Sniper Elite 3, owing this increase in size, detail and player count to the more advanced hardware in PC and current generation consoles.

Running in native 1080p on both PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, Sniper Elite 4 is the first game in the series built from the ground-up for next generation hardware.

With an expansive campaign for 1-2 players and dedicated co-op and adversarial multiplayer modes, Sniper Elite 4 aims to deliver the definitive World War Two shooter for a generation, with unrivalled sniping freedom across maps many times the size of those seen in Sniper Elite 3.

Sniper Elite 4 Announced

Sniper Elite 3 was a performance masterpiece on PC, offering almost perfect SLI and CrossFire scaling,  great excellent Single GPU performance and is one of the few games that can be maxed out at 4K with very few issues.

It is expected that Sniper Elite 4 will be making use of the DirectX 12 or Vulkan APIs, as the developers of the game has had experience with modern graphical APIs in the past using AMD’s Mantle API.
