Star Wars Battlefront will not support in-game voice chat

DICE has long been famous for creating games which are very team focused, games where constant communication with your squad can be the difference between life and death, or success and failure.

This leaves Battlefront in an odd position, not supporting voice chat in-game, which while it has the benefits of avoiding the screams of random people on the internet when they get shot, it also takes away from the team aspect of the game. EA has tweeted that gamers on the PC should use their favorite 3rd party application for voice chat, be it TeamSpeak or even Origin’s integrated Voice Chat system.

You can choose your favorite third party software to communicate with friends on PC,

It is very odd for such a big budget game to be missing such a key feature, though in reality it really doesn’t make that much of a difference to PC gamers, who typically use their preferred 3rd party app for all games rather than  rely on the game’s integrated chat functionality.

Star Wars Battlefront will be releasing on November 17 on PC, PS4 and Xbox One.
