The Oculus Rift Touch Bundle now costs £499

The Oculus Summer of Rift is now over, which means that the Oculus Rift Touch bundle is no longer priced at its limited time $399/£399 price tag.

Now Oculus’ Rift Touch bundle will cost £499, with this new bundle lacking the included Xbox One controller an Oculus Remote that was included with original Oculus Rift VR headsets. This is an effective £100 increase in price though, in reality, the former Summer of Rift bundle price was only a limited time price reduction. This means that this price is a return to normality, rather than a price increase.

This new bundle will also ship with six free games, including Robo Recall, an action-packed VR First Person Shooter, the cheerful 3D platformer Lucky’s Tale, Dragon Front the immersive exclusive-to-VR trading card game, the VR drawing tool Quill, the multiplayer shooter Dead and Buried, the popular VR demo Toybox as well as Medium, which allows your to shape, model, paint and create your very own objects within VR.

  • Bundle:
    1x Oculus Rift VR headset
1x IR camera sensor with stand
2x Oculus Touch motion controllers (includes 1x AA per controller)
1x IR camera sensor with stand (2,5 m cable length)

With this new price, the Oculus Rift is still priced £100 lower than HTC’s Vive headset, which offers with it the most accurate tracking system for “room-scale” VR gaming. The HTC Vive also ships with three VR games/experiences, Richie’s Plank Experience, Everest VR and Google Tilt Brush.
