It has been announced that the HTC Vive had sold over 15k units in the first 10 minutes of sales, showing an insane amount of interest in the VR platform.

While many people have complained about the high cost of consumer VR, the sheer number of units that HTC has managed to sell really shows how willing both developers and consumers are willing to par for the premium VR experience that the HTC Vive offers.

This announcement was made by Shen Ye, a member of HTC’s VR Team, saying that 1500 units were sold every minute shortly after the launch of the headset.

Right now the price of the HTC Vive is $799 in the US and £689 in the UK, with large postage payments required for non-US customers on top of the original asking price.
