TPCAST is working on a wireless solution for the Oculus Rift

TPCAST’s wireless Oculus Rift streaming solution is now available to pre-order in the UK

Last month TPCAST revealed that they were creating a wireless VR adapter for the Oculus Rift, allowing users of the headset to escape into VR without cables tethering the user into the real world like an anchor.

TPCAST has already found success creating a similar solution for the HTC Vive, allowing users to enter VR with fewer restriction. This wireless VR solution enables 90 FPS VR gameplay with sub-2ms latencies, which is will almost unnoticeable for VR users when compared to a wired VR solution.

Users of similar wireless solution for the HTC Vive have already showcased the ability to do backflips and other advanced movements in VR, which are simply impossible with tethered headsets.

Right now TPCAST’s wireless solution for the Oculus Rift is available to pre-order from Overclockers UK for £349.99. This prices the Wireless Adapter for the Oculus Rift at a mere £50 under the cost of the headset itself, making this wireless adapter an extremely expensive add-on.
