ASUS launches BTF 2.5 at Computex with new motherboards, cases, and GPUs
ASUS takes its BTF technology to the next level at Computex 2025
At Computex 2025, ASUS has unveiled its BTF 2.5 technology, transforming its “cable-free”/”hidden-cable hardware ecosystem. With new BTF-series cases, motherboards and graphics cards, ASUS is bringing its BTF technology to more PC builders than ever before.
So what’s new about BTF 2.5? Not much. Its main draw is its detachable GC-HPWR adapter, which allows new BTF graphics cards to be used with “cable-free” BTF motherboards and standard motherboards. In other words, BTF GPUs can be used with standard power cables, making them much more versatile.
Using ASUS’ BTF hardware, PC builders can build PCs without visible power cables. All power cables are hidden behind the case’s motherboard tray. Note that this GC-HPWR adapter can support up to 1000W of power delivery. That’s much more than a 16-pin 12V-2×6 power connector.
ASUS has unveiled two new BTF series graphics cards at Computex. These are the ASUS TUF Gaming GeForce RTX 5070 Ti BTF White Edition, which we have already written about, and the ROG Astral RTX 5090 BTF Edition. The slide below also highlights five BTF motherboards and nine PC cases.
With BTF 2.5, ASUS’ new BTF series graphics cards have become a “best of both worlds” solution for gamers. Now, these GPUs can work on all motherboards. If a user wants to build a BTF system in steps and buy a new GPU first, this is now an option. To move a BTF GPU from a standard motherboard to a BTF motherboard is simple. Add ASUS’ removable GC-HPWR connector and move the GPU to the new motherboard (minus its power cable), simple.
