Ever since the dawn of the smartphone revolution, users have asked for devices that offer longer battery lives. While many are happy to charge their phones daily, it is undeniable that it would be nice to own a phone that could handle more than a few hours of video playback before running out of charge.

This is where Energizer has stepped in – yes, the battery company – launching their P18K Pop smartphone, which boasts a staggeringly large 18,000mAh battery. By staggering, we are not just referring to the long battery life that this smartphone will offer. No, we are also referring to this device’s sheer girth, with the device itself being as thick as three iPhones, which makes the device around 30-40mm thick.

In terms of battery life, Energizer promises 48 hours of video playback and up to one week of use, which should offer users more than enough time to find a charger. On standby, this phone can last for up to 50 days, with charging taking 9 hours when using the device’s 18W charger.

When looking at Energizer’s specifications there is little to complain about, with the device offering a 6.2 inch 1080×2280 IPS screen, a Mediatek Helio P70 Octocore SoC, 6GB of memory, 128GB of storage ( up to 128GB MicroSD card). The device even offers a reverse charging mode, just in case somebody else’s phone runs out of charge.

Energizer also offers its users five cameras, with two of which are front-facing and three of which are rear facing. The two front-facing cameras are mounted on a pop-up section of the device, giving P18K Pop users full access to the device’s screen, with no notches or punched out holes. The smartphone will also utilise the Android 9.0 operating system.

At this time Energizer’s P18K Pop smartphone is expected to become available this summer for around €600 in Europe.
