Frontier Developments announces Frontier Expo 2017

Frontier Developments has announced that they will be hosting their first ever Frontier Expo, a Blizzcon-like event where the company will be celebrating the success of releases of like Elite: Dangerous and Planet Coaster alongside their loyal fans.

At this event, Frontier will be making some highly anticipated announcements regarding the future of Elite Dangerous and plans on revealing their next AAA game. This event will be taking place on October 7th at Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park in London, though fans that cannot make it to the event will be able to watch FX2017’s key announcements as they are livestreamed to the world.

This will be the largest event that Frontier Developments has ever hosted, with the event hosting a range of special guests and experts that will explore the real-life science that Frontiers games are built. This event will also have developer-hosted demos which will explore new game content alongside the players in attendance.

Frontier’s CEO David Braben said that this event is possible thanks to the support that the community has given them over the years, allowing this developer of niche gaming titles to find tremendous success, even without a publisher.

Frontier Expo is all about Frontier’s incredible community,

Our journey into the world of self-publishing wouldn’t have been possible without the terrific communities that have assembled around Elite Dangerous and Planet Coaster.

We’ve held community events before but we’ve never had the opportunity to celebrate our current games with the players and look to the studio’s future all at one event. We can’t wait to meet everyone this October.

Frontier Expo 2017 takes place October 7 at Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, London. More information on this event can be found on Frontier’s official expo website

Tickets for this event will go on sale on July 28th at a reduced early bird price.
