Kickstarter campaign claims to drop PS5 thermals by 30% with an AI-powered add-on
SCRY claims a 30% drop in PS5 thermals with their “AI-powered” cooling solution
Sony’s PlayStation 5 console is a hot-running device, and there is no shortage of users who want to enhance their system’s cooling performance. SCRY has started a Kickstarter campaign for its new AI-powered PS5 cooling solution, which promises to reduce PS5 thermals by 30% by giving the console a 5x airflow boost.
Gamers might want a cooler-running PlayStation 5 for many reasons. A cooler-running PlayStation might last longer than a stock system. Furthermore, users with aftermarket cooling can game with added peace of mind, as their consoles will have a lower risk of overheating.
SCRY has custom PS5 cooling solutions for original PS5 “Fat” consoles, newer PS5 Slim consoles, and Sony’s PlayStation 5 Pro system. All of these coolers are powered through USB and feature a pass-through USB port.
Using an AI-powered controller, SCRY’s new cooling solutions can ramp fan speeds up and down in response to PS5 console thermals. This allows this cooler to run silently under low loads and only run at maximum speed when necessary.
SCRY claims that their new coolers can drop the thermals significantly. Using a thermal camera, SCRY measured that the rear of a PS5 can see its thermals drop from 64 degrees Celsius to 55 degrees Celsius.
SCRY’s Kickstarter campaign still has five days to go. PS5 users can back this campaign here if they want one of these cooling solutions. Shipping for SCRY’s AI-powered PS5 coolers will start in March 2025.
