Microsoft Adds VX-2000 to LifeCam Series
 
The VX-2000 from Microsoft is an affordably priced webcamMicrosoft Hardware today launched four products including three new additions to its BlueTrack line and a new LifeCam VX-2000. The “easy-to-use webcam with a built-in microphone and vivid VGA video” takes Microsoft’s LifeCam series product number to 10.
 
The new cam features a VGA video sensor for clear video and a camera interpolated to 1.3 megapixels for still photography. The auto-focus and auto-light adjustment system built into the cam provide best possible video even in low-light conditions. With a capture rate of up to 30 frames per second, the VX-2000 is designed for smooth and seamless video chatting and conferencing.
 
The plug and play camera comes with a built-in, highly-sensitive microphone that picks up voices with extreme clarity. A unique addition to the new cam is the video effects feature that provides entertaining video effects through the LifeCam dashboard. With direct support for Windows Live Video through the LifeCam Video Message gadget, the VX-2000 makes it easy for you to send video messages to your contacts at the click of a mouse.
 
Expected to become available in June, the LifeCam VX-2000 will retail at $30 and will be backed by Microsoft’s three-year limited warranty.
