More Layoffs From AMD

More Layoffs From AMD

Through the past year, AMD has been having some struggles despite the recent success on the ATI side of things.  In April, AMD laid off 10% of their 16,500 employees, with another 3% cut occurring last month.  Now it seems AMD is looking to lose another 10% of their workforce at the start of next year.

The weak state of the global economy is really taking its toll, causing demand across the board to be much lower than expected.  AMD recently revised their fourth quarter estimates down to 25% lower than their third quarter sales of $1.585 billion.

Update:
AMD has approached Expreview and denied these alleged layoffs.

Has the economy caused to you to feel the squeeze as well?
