Netflix provides a “first look” at Henry Cavill as Geralt of Rivia
Netflix provides a “first look” at Henry Cavill as Geralt of Rivia
Right not, The Witcher is set or release sometime in late 2019, already revealing detailed information about the case, filming locations and more. So far, not much is known about the series, though it is expected to be more like the books than CD Projekt Red’s video game series.Â
When looking at Netflix’ interpretation of Geralt, we can see that Geralt’s iconic beard from the Witcher 3 has been removed and that his scar is a lot less pronounced, moving away from his wildly popular video game counterpart.Â
Followers of The Witcher book series will know that Geralt typically prefers to be clean shaven, with the series containing complaints about an itchy beard or other annoyances when Geralt spends too much time away from a razor. Regardless of Netflix’ decision, they were either going to alienate The Witcher’s book or video game fanbase with this aesthetic choice, though I must admit that Geralt looks strange without a beard. Â

At this time it is far too early to pass judgement on Netflix’s adaptation of The Witcher, as this teaser contains no dialogue or any information that is worth noting. It is too early to say whether or not Henry Cavill’s portrayal of Geralt of Rivia will live up to expectations.Â
