Netflix’s Dragon’s Dogma Anime will release this September

Netflix has confirmed that its planned Dragon’s Dogma Anime will release this September, adapting the Capcom classic into an entirely new medium. Dragon’s Dogma originally released on PS3 and Xbox 360 back in 2012 but has since received remastered version on Nintendo’s Switch console, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.

In recent Tweet, Netflix confirmed that the series would arrive on September 17th, coming from the talented animators at Sublimation. The Anime will likely follow the events of the game closely, though the game is said to feature new characters. Sublimation is a studio which specialises in CG animation, though Netflix has confirmed that Dragon’s Dogma will feature a mix of CG and traditional 2D animation.

Below is the Anime’s official blurb on Netflix.

Based on a world-famous action RPG set in an open world, Dragon’s Dogma from Capcom will be brought to life as a Netflix original anime series. The story follows a man’s journey seeking revenge on a dragon who stole his heart. On his way, the man is brought back to life as an ‘Arisen’. An action adventure about a man challenged by demons who represent the seven deadly sins of humans.
