Patrick Buckland wins Outstanding Individual Award at the TIGA Industry Awards
Stainless Games’ CEO, Patrick Buckland, recognised as TIGA’s 2024 “Outstanding Individual of the Year”
Last night, TIGA (The Independent Game Developers’ Association) hosted its 2024 Games Industry Awards. At this event, TIGA recognised Patrick Buckland, the Founder and CEO of Stainless Games, as their “Outstanding Individual of the Year 2024.”
Stainless Games is a game developer based in Newport on the Isle of Wight. That’s the same stomping ground as OC3D. We’re delighted to see one of our local gaming legends recognised this way. It’s a great end to Stainless Games’ 30th anniversary year, and it is a well-deserved accolade for such a well-loved and down-to-earth man.
If you haven’t heard of Stainless Games, they are best known for the Carmageddon series and the Magic The Gathering: Duals of the Planeswalkers. Before founding Stainless Games, Patrick Buckland also created Crystal Raider and its follow-up Crystal Quest, classic games for the Macintosh. More recently, teams from Stainless Games have been working with Amazon on New World: Aeternum. This update brought New World to consoles for the first time.
Below is what Stainless Games had to say about Patrick Buckland’s award on their website.
At a packed Shoreditch Town Hall, Stainless were in attendance to help celebrate the creative games developers of the UK.
In a surprise turn of events, Patrick Buckland, our CEO & Co-Founder, won the “Outstanding Individual of the Year 2024” Award!
Congratulations Patrick! A well-deserved accolade that tops off our 30th anniversary year.
2024 has been a big year for Stainless Games. In May, the company was honoured with a King’s Award for Enterprise for International Trade. The company has also contributed to improving the Newport High Street this year with its new office frontage. Additionally, the company helped the Wight Aviation Museum (WAM) enhance its Flight Simulators this year by providing them with a high-end PC to run their new flight simulation software.
Congratulations, Patrick, on your achievement. As we said before, the award is well deserved.
