Sony announces major PlayStation 5 price hike
PlayStation 5 console prices are rising, and Sony blames the “global economic landscape”
Sony has officially confirmed that its PlayStation 5 consoles are set to receive a price hike. All PlayStation 5 console models are affected, including the PlayStation 5 Pro. Baseline consoles will see their prices increase by $100, while the Pro will see a larger $150 price increase.

Below are Sony’s new PlayStation console prices for the US, UK, Europe and Japan. These prices will come into effect on April 2nd 2026. In US terms, Sony’s price increase raises the cost of a PlayStation 5 console by around 20%.

The PlayStation Portal has also received a price hike
Sony has also increased the price of its PlayStation Portal handheld, raising its cost by $50 in the US. This price increase will be in effect from April 2nd, giving buyers a limited time to purchase the handheld gaming streaming system at its current price.
