Sony releases their first trailer for the Gran Turismo Movie
Gran Turismo is making it to the big screen this summer
Sony Pictures Entertainment and PlayStation Productions have released their first trailer for the Gran Turismo movie, which is due to release in Cinemas this August.Â
The movie is based on a true story, following a racer in GT Academy, a program that has been operated since 2008 by Sony PlayStation and Nissan that seeks to find and train racers and convert them from digital racing to real-world motorsport.Â
Gran Turismo tells the story of Jann Mardenborough, who prevailed against 90,000 participants in GT Academy and entered the world of motorsport and drove in various GT3 racing series from 2012 to 2015. The movie tells the story of how he moved from racing on his home console to racing on real-world racetracks across the globe.
Sony’s Gran Turismo movie has been directed by Neill Blomkamp, who previously directed District 9, Elysium, and Chappie, and features an all-star cast that includes Archie Madekwe as Jann Mardenborough, David Harbor as Jack Salter, the instructor at GT Academy, and Orlando Bloom as Danny Moore, the film’s director of GT Academy.
