Sony’s PS5 Pro due to be revealed next month – Insider Claims

PlayStation 5 Pro console to be revealed at State of Play event in September

Insiders have known about Sony’s PS5 Pro console for quite some time. Specifications have leaked, development kits have shipped, and the system was basically an open secret amongst the developers and press at Gamescom. Based on the insights of Jeff Grubb, from his Game Mess Mornings podcast, Sony still plans to release their PlayStation 5 Pro console this year.

Sony’s mid-generation console refresh will reportedly be revealed at an upcoming “State of Play” event. This event is due to take place by the end of September. This means that the time between the system’s launch and release will be short. If Sony follows convention and launched their PS5 Pro console this year, the system will be available in early-mid November.

Last I heard, this thing (PS5 Pro) is still coming out this year.

More recently what I’ve heard is there is probably going to be a State of Play, a Sony PlayStation State of Play – not a Showcase – a State of Play, at the end;- by the end of September.

Sony’s PlayStation 5 Pro is due to release with support for AI upscaling, and improvements to the system’s ray tracing support. Additionally, the system will also feature a beefier GPU and faster GDDR6 memory.

The PlayStation 5 Pro should be able to play PS5 games at higher resolutions and with superior upscaling. Furthermore, the system should have the ray tracing performance to allow games to make use of more ray tracing features. In other words, PS5 games will look best on PS5 Pro. That said, the console itself is expected to be very expensive.
