The LEGO Game Boy is set to be a Christmas HIT!
Nintendo’s Game Boy now has a near 1:1 LEGO replica, and it will be available before Christmas
LEGO and Nintendo have teamed up to create a near 1:1 replica of Nintendo’s classic Game Boy handheld. This 421-piece kit is releasing on October 1st, and arrives with two game cartridges and display stands, making this the perfect display piece for nostalgic gamers.
The kit is highly detailed, featuring brick-built cartridges for The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening or Super Mario Land. It also has pressable buttons, and volume/contrast dials. Users even have various lenticular screen options to customise the system.

A neat display piece
At £54.99, this LEGO replica costs as much as a used Game Boy console. That said, the joy of Lego is in the building. This is a neat display piece and is certainly cheaper than a pristine Game Boy system.

No, this is not a functional Game Boy, don’t let the screen printing fool you
Gamers should note that this is a buildable display piece, not a LEGO-themed emulation device. I am sure that some modders will try to turn this kit into a functional system. Regardless, LEGO has designed this kit to be a fun display piece, not a functional gaming device. The screen may look real at first glance, but it is printed plastic. Yes, I know people who thought that this was a LEGO-built emulation device…
