Xbox Edition Meta Quest 3S headset leaks ahead of official unveiling

Everything is an Xbox? Xbox Edition Meta Quest 3S VR headset leaks

It looks like everything can indeed be an Xbox. A new “Xbox Edition” of the Meta Quest 3S has leaked, and rumour has it that it will be officially revealed this week. This new version of the Meta Quest 3S reportedly ships with an Xbox controller, making it an ideal system for playing Xbox games using Microsoft’s cloud streaming services.

The new Xbox Edition VR headset is reportedly launching with 128GB of memory, an Elite strap, and an Xbox controller. This new headset has been created to push Xbox Game Pass and Xbox’s cloud gaming services. The headset features a new Xbox-style colour scheme, moving away from Meta’s standard white headset look.

With Microsoft planning to support alternative storefronts with its future Xbox consoles, it is possible that future Xbox consoles may support VR headsets. After all, Steam supports VR, and Meta’s Quest VR headsets can connect to PCs using wired or wireless connections.

If Microsoft makes Xbox a more open PC-like platform, the company could deliver VR support using Meta’s VR headsets. If Xbox/Meta’s VR partnership extends beyond this “Xbox Edition” headset, it paints an interesting future for Meta and Xbox.
