Leaked AMD Ryzen 7 9850X3D benchmark highlights notable performance gains

Passmark results for AMD’s Ryzen 7 9850X3D have leaked, highlighting notable performance gains for AMD’s upcoming CPU model. AMD’s Ryzen 7 9850X3D is expected to launch at CES 2026, arriving as an upgraded version of AMD’s hugely popular Ryzen 7 9800X3D gaming CPU.

Based on the results below (via X86 is dead&back), highlight single-threaded and multi-threaded performance gains of 4.7% for AMD’s new CPUs. Rumour has it that AMD’s new 9850X3D CPU features a boost clock speed of 5.6 GHz. This is 400 MHz faster than AMD’s Ryzen 7 9800X3D.

Clearly, AMD’s higher clock speeds are delivering enhanced CPU performance. This will allow AMD’s new CPU model to provide higher levels of gaming performance in CPU-limited scenarios. That said, performance gains are minor compared with AMD’s Ryzen 7 9800X3D. Regardless, this upgrade makes AMD’s newest X3D CPU a more tempting upgrade option for users of older AMD CPUs and non-X3D CPUs.

AMD’s website recently confirmed the existence of its Ryzen 7 9850X3D CPU. As such, it is only a matter of time before AMD officially unveils this processor. There are also reports of a Ryzen 9 9950X3D2 CPU. However, a lack of benchmark leaks and other information about this CPU makes its existence far from confirmed.
