Battlefield 6 was the best-selling game of 2025, destroying Call of Duty

Battlefield 6 smashed Call of Duty Black Ops 7, becoming the US’ best-selling game of 2025

2025 is almost over, and Gamesindustry.biz has compiled a list of the industry’s best-selling games. In the US, Battlefield 6 has been named the best-selling game of 2026, beating Monster Hunter Wilds, Borderlands 4, and Call of Duty: Black Ops 7. Below is a list of the best-selling video games in the USA. This date includes both retail and digital sales data. However, console/game bundles are not included in this data.

USA Best-Selling Games of 2025 (Retail and Digital Sales)

  1. Battlefield 6
  2. NBA 2K26
  3. Monster Hunter: Wilds
  4. Borderlands 4
  5. EA Sports College Football 26
  6. Madden NFL 26
  7. Call of Duty: Black Ops 7
  8. Call of Duty: Black Ops 6

UK Physical Sales charts tell a different story

In the UK, the industry’s best-selling games data tells a different story. However, it is worth noting that this data only accounts for retail sales. Digital game sales are not present. That means that games sold on physical formats (like Switch/Switch 2 games) are favoured, and games that are sold digitally (like most PC games) are not accounted for. This explains why Switch 2 games like Mario Kart World, Pokemon Legends Z-A, and Donkey Kong Bananza are in this list.

UK Best-Selling Games of 2025 (Retail Sales)

  1. Mario Kart World
  2. EA Sports FC 26
  3. Pokemon Legends Z-A
  4. Hogwarts Legacy
  5. EA Sports FC 25
  6. Battlefield 6
  7. Assassin’s Creed: Shadows
  8. Mario Kart 8 Deluxe
  9. Donkey Kong Bananza
  10. Minecraft

While this data does not account for all possible game sales, it clearly shows that Battlefield 6 beat Call of Duty Black Ops 7. It’s also notable that games like Clair Obscure: Expedition 33 are not in either list. Furthermore, it’s notable how Nintendo dominates the list when analysts only count retail sales.
