Devil May Cry 5’s PC System Requirements have Changed
Thankfully, this change has given Capcom the opportunity to list both AMD and Intel processors as well as Radeon and Geforce graphics hardware, with the game’s older requirements listing Intel/Geforce components, lacking system specifications that fully applied to AMD/Radeon components. Â
At the time of writing, Devil May Cry 5 is bundled with select Radeon graphics cards and systems, making their exclusion from the game’s official system requirements a strange decision on the part of Capcom. Devil May Cry 5 is built using the same RE engine which powered Resident Evil 2’s recent remake (full PC Performance Analysis here), which means that the game is likely to run well on both Radeon and Geforce graphics hardware.Â
Capcom recommends that PC players use Xinput gamepads when running Devil May Cry 5 and that their system has at least 35GB of available storage.Â
When compared to the game’s older system requirements the game has shifted from a CPU recommendation of an Intel i7 4770 (both minimum and recommended) to a minimum of an Intel i5-4460 or an AMD FX-6300 while recommending an Intel i7-3770 or an AMD FX-9590.Â
On the GPU-side the game’s minimum GPU requirements are the same, with a Radeon R7 260X getting added into the mix while the game’s recommended system requirements have moved from an Nvidia Geforce GTX 960 to a Geforce GTX 1060 or a Radeon RX 480 or better.Â
Fans of Resident Evil 2’s recent remake will realise that Capcom has, for the most part, copy/pasted the PC system requirements for Resident Evil 2 (2019) into Devil May Cry 5’s Steam page, with the only difference being the larger 35GB storage requirement and the recommendation for Xinput gamepads. While this may seem lazy, it is worth remembering that they both use the same game engine and target the same framerates on Xbox One and PlayStation 4 consoles.
