Half-Life 3 confirmed? Valve has a secret “upcoming” game on Steam

Valve has a secret “upcoming release” listed on Steam

Last week, Valve unveiled new “Steam Hardware” devices, including their new Steam Machine, Steam Frame VR headset, and Steam Controller. Ahead of these reveals, many leakers claimed that Valve also planned to unveil Half-Life 3, the long-awaited sequel to Half-Life 2. Now, gamers have spotted a secret “upcoming release” on Steam from Valve.

When looking at Valve’s “upcoming releases”, two games are listed. However, only one of these games has a Steam page, suggesting that Valve has two upcoming games on Steam’s back-end. Currently, Deadlock is Valve’s only listed upcoming game. This leaves gamers with one simple question: What’s Valve’s second upcoming game?

(What is Valve’s second upcoming release?)

Gamers will be quick to speculate that this upcoming game is Half-Life 3. After all, there are rumours that Half-Life 3 is undergoing playtesting. There are also rumours that the game will be revealed at this year’s “The Game Awards” next month. However, it is equally possible that Valve has other games in the works. Has Valve built a VR game for its upcoming Valve Index VR headset? Maybe a “Aperture Desk Job” style game for Valve’s new Steam Machine and Steam controller? Perhaps Team Fortress 3, Left 4 Dead 3, or Portal 3 are in the worlds. Valve has no shortage of IP to explore. There’s also the possibility of an entirely new game.

Let’s face it, we all want this new game to be Half-Life 3. That said, Valve will only reveal its next game when they are ready.
