Hogwarts Legacy is now free to grab on PC

Hogwarts Legacy is currently free on the Epic Games Store

As announced at this year’s The Game Awards, Hogwarts Legacy is now available for free on the Epic Games Store. This allows PC gamers to grab the game on PC free of charge until December 18th, after which a “Mystery Game” will be free on the storefront.

Typically, Hogwarts Legacy costs £49.99 on PC. This makes this freebie a big deal for PC gamers. That said, the game has been available since February 2023, and it has been heavily discounted in the past. Regardless, this is an excellent grab for anyone who’s even vaguely interested in this Harry Potter single-player RPG.

Overall, Hogwarts Legacy runs well on PC. You can read our PC performance review for the game here. However, it is worth noting that the game’s PC version has received post-launch optimisation patches and more advanced graphical options since launch. Options like DLSS Frame Generation, XeSS, and FSR 4 are all available in the game.

PC gamers can now grab free copies of Hogwarts Legacy through the Epic Games Store. Note that gamers who play two hours of Hogwarts Legacy before December 18th will also get a “Chocolate Frog Back Bling” item in Fortnite.
